SPICY MANGO FROZEN MARGARITA
In the summer, I find myself craving bright, fruity flavors in my cocktails – and you will notice that a lot of my summer recipes include them! This is one of my favorites – blended margaritas remind me of being on vacation, even when I am stuck at home – and this beautiful, brightly colored creation will have you sea-side in no time!
If you don’t like spicy you can leave out the jalapeño– it still tastes great!
INGREDIENTS
2 oz blanco tequila
1 oz triple sec/ orange liqueur
1 oz fresh lime juice (about 1 small lime)
½ cup of frozen mango
2 slices of jalapeño (or two dashes of spicy Firewater Bitters, which is my favorite bar staple!)
½ cup Ice
Lime Chili Mix (You can use Tajin from the store, or just mix together: 1 tbsp chili powder or paprika, ¼ tsp cayenne, 1 tsp lime zest, ¼ tsp salt, 1/8 tsp sugar)
PREPARATION
1. Place Tajin (or your chili mix) onto a plate.
2. Wipe a lime wedge around the rim of a glass, and turn it upside down on the plate to rim it.
3. Add all of the ingredients to a blender and blend in stages until all of the ice is broken up and frothy – you don’t want any chunks!
4. Pour into your rimmed glass and garnish with a lime!
